Dear Parents

As you are all probably aware the Charter Theatre has now gone into administration. Although they are still hoping for a deal to go ahead we did not want to risk our show being cancelled and do not feel we could trust them going forward.

We have spent the last few weeks visiting lots of different theatres and venues around the area.

Most shows are booked two years in advance so its has been really difficult not only to find a suitable venue that would hold backstage approximately 400 people but also to find one that has any dates available!

We are delighted to tell you we have secured a booking at the famous Blackpool Opera House within the Winter Gardens.

The Opera house is an amazing theatre and it will be an incredible experience for our pupils to dance on the stage as so many famous people have done in the past. The Opera house is the second largest theatre in Europe and is the only theatre to have hosted the Royal Variety show outside of London in the presence of The Queen, the performers includedLady Gaga,Michael Bublé,Alexandra Burke,Diversity,Miley Cyrus,Whoopi Goldberg,Katherine Jenkins,Jason Manford,Mika,Bette Midler,André Rieu, the cast ofSister Act the Musical, withWhoopi Goldbergand the cast ofHere Come the Girls;Anastasia,LuluandChaka Khan

We have decided to have an earlier rehearsal at the theatre in case any routines needs tweaking as it would give us more time. Thefirst rehearsal at the Opera house will be on Sunday 9th February (times tbc)

The show will now take place on Friday 20th March at 6pm and Saturday 21st March at 1pm and 6pm.

We have also decided after seeing another venue in Blackpool that we will be holding a smaller show the following year for our Year 3 and upwards pupils which will give us chance to showcase our new subjects and give our pupils something to work towards each year!

We will start rehearsals in September. The whole school will be taking part in the show, one routine per subject and a finale, from the Pre-school classes to the Adults! The teachers have put together a very exciting show and we can’t wait to get started on the routines in class. Some classes are joined together for show work as larger groups work better on the stage at the theatre. If you wish your child to start an extra subject in September please let us know. Street dance, Contemporary, Acro, kicks class and Boogie babies will not be taking part in the show.

We always try to keep the cost down on our costumes, do not worry as there is no sewing required! Parents buy the costumes from us, which are all ready made and will be theirs to keep. We have over a thousand costumes and accessories to order for our pupils so we will be starting to order over the summer. Therefore we require a £10 deposit PER SUBJECT by the end of term (13th July) for example if children do Ballet, tap and modern a £30 deposit will be required, payment to the usual dance school account.Only pay for the classes they are currently doing. Please let me know if you have any questions. More details will follow…..

We are so excited to get started now!

Kind Regards
